Katherine Boorstein

Katherine is passionate about cultivating empathy through storytelling. At Columbia, she serves as co-president of the Media Management Association and vice president for CBS Follies, a community-building sketch comedy group. She was selected as a Nonprofit Board Leadership Program Fellow for the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise and provided pro bono consulting services to the Harlem Chamber Players, a classical music-focused nonprofit. In addition to the McGowan fellowship, Katherine received the Columbia fellowship for students demonstrating “the greatest potential to lead the world’s enterprises” as well as the Forté fellowship for outstanding women MBAs. Outside of Columbia, Katherine serves as the managing director of The Barr Hill Players, an outdoor education program for young actors. Prior to business school, Katherine worked at ICM Partners talent agency in Los Angeles, where she represented screenwriters for television. In summer 2021, she joined McKinsey & Company as a summer associate with a focus on media and technology, supporting a large-scale telecommunications customer care transformation. Katherine earned her BA from Brown University with honors in 2016. In her free time, you can find Katherine exploring the U.S. parks system, baking challah bread, teaching breathwork meditation, or dancing.
