Pooja is an MBA candidate at MIT Sloan and a practicing emergency physician with a passion for improving healthcare through innovation and technology. At MIT Sloan, she is a teaching assistant for the dean, an MBA Core Fellow, and co-president of the Sloan Healthcare Club.
She completed her medical training and residency at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where she served as president and site chief resident for her institution. Her experiences with the single-payer system in Canada were instrumental in her desire to realign incentives in the U.S. healthcare system and motivated her to create change in healthcare. During her summer, Pooja joined Buoy Health, an AI healthcare startup that is redesigning healthcare navigation and is currently working to implement new tools to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her spare time, she enjoys running along the Charles River in Boston, relaxing on outdoor patios, and learning golf.
