Eligibility
- The candidate is a current/former colleague, associate, or business partner in the for-profit sector.
- Our framework is values-based decision-making, and your candidate should be able to speak to that.
- Even though this might be clear, we must note that you can’t nominate yourself.
- The nominee must be a CEO of a U.S.-registered business.
- Nominations must be made through the online form.
- Nominations are due April 1, 2023.
- The winner of the McGowan Award must be available for the award ceremony at the Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference & Expo in Chicago, Sunday, June 23, 2024

What’s on the form?
The nomination form asks for basic information about your nominee and the organization he or she leads. It also asks for a short statement of ethical leadership describing how the nominee practices values-based decision-making as an executive. This short essay focuses on one principle.
