We are pleased to announce that Megan McGowan and Patrick McGowan were elected to the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund board in July 2023. These new additions represent the third generation to carry on the legacy begun by William G. McGowan in 1993, something particularly poignant for us, as we have always been proud to be rooted in family—we are a family foundation first and foremost. The Fund is excited for this moment of growth in our organization and grateful for the opportunity to embody multi-generational philanthropy.
Megan McGowan is a senior audit associate at KPMG, LLP, where she has worked, servicing the consumer goods and retail industry, since 2019. She graduated with honors from the William G. McGowan School of Business at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, with degrees in accounting and marketing. Megan currently lives in South Carolina where she enjoys reading and spending time with her friends and dogs.
After graduating from the University of Kansas in 2012, Patrick McGowan spent seven years working in the behavioral healthcare field helping others who were struggling with substance abuse and mental health. During that time, he also served on the board of the Austin Chapter of Texas Association of Addiction Professionals in various capacities. In 2021, Patrick transitioned to working in software.
