Since its inception in 2016, Chicago Beyond has invested more than $35 million in ideas, individuals, and organizations who help youth achieve their fullest human potential.
She says fighting for young Chicagoans comes naturally because: She was born and raised in Chicago’s Chinatown. She’s a first-generation college graduate and a product of Chicago public schools. After CPS—Harvard, where she earned an AB in government and a minor in economics.
Before Chicago Beyond: She led strategy, digital, and operations projects at McKinsey & Company. Also advised not-for-profit healthcare systems at Barclays.
She credits the fellowship for: The turn her career has taken. “It was great, the opportunity to meet individuals from nine other schools and work with them over the course of the year.” That year, the social impact project focused on developing an ethics curriculum for young people. “Everyone was passionate about what they were doing; they wanted their work to be more meaningful than the job description.”
