Leo Denault is a board director at Huntington Ingalls Industries, America’s largest shipbuilder and a global, all-domain defense provider. Until his retirement in 2023, he served for 10 years as Entergy chairman and chief executive officer, leading the company’s transformation into the premier utility.

During his tenure as CEO of one of the nation’s cleanest energy companies, Leo guided the development of a strategic capital plan to modernize and strengthen the reliability of Entergy’s power generation fleet while maintaining some of the lowest customer rates in the country. Under his leadership, the company was recognized as a driving force behind the Gulf Coast’s industrial expansion.

Leo serves on the boards of directors for Jobs for America’s Graduates, the Edison Electric Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, and the World Association of Nuclear Operators Atlanta Centre, and HII. He also is a member of the National Petroleum Council.

Leo has an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Ball State University.
