Ethics Curriculum, Aurora University

Then

As early as 1975, American educators were promoting the study of ethical reasoning in high school curricula, but the practice was slow to grow. With this in mind, the classes of 2011, 2012, and 2013 worked to build a modular ethics curriculum. The resulting compilation of case studies on ethics led to the development of an ethics curriculum by Aurora University.

Now

Aurora University continues to iterate and build on their various ethics course offerings. In the past year, they kicked off a process for program evaluation, with plans to interview former participants of the ethics graduate course for Doctor of Education (EdD) students to assess “professional and classroom transformation” that resulted from their participation in the course. They also hosted a summer speaker series, “Ethics and Racial Justice in Leadership,” bringing in guests from around the world to share insights with students on leadership within institutions.
